Making this more interesting

Social Media is not the most interesting to me.  I am not a huge fan of blogging, facebooking, or tweeting.   And especially not a fan of Klout because I do not think Klout is accurate at all.  So from here on out I am going to blog about more interesting things to me.

Clothing... who doesn't like clothes and shopping? What makes shopping better? Coupons and discounts.

How do you get coupons and discounts from retailers?  Many of retailers do it through emails.  GIVE your email address when you are checking out at stores if they ask.  They will send you deals and coupons that way.

Retailers also give coupons and discounts through the websites.  Visit the website and look at their weekly deals or coupons.

What does the title do for you?

Titles to books and articles can make you want to read it or make you you skip right over it.  Titles that are catchy and weird make a person what to click on it and read it.

In class on Wednesday we talked about titles like this and while I was on facebook today I saw a title that read "Police: 2 Nebraska boys kept in wire dog kennel". that title caught my attention because it is not a title you would read often.  It's off the beaten path.  I continued to click on the title and read the story.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Should we censor social media more?

Here is an article about China censoring its social media.
China Censoring Social media

Do you think we should censor social media in the US? Would it help decrease attacks made on individuals and groups?

Which one makes you want to eat Doritos?

Here are two different commercials that Doritos has used in the past.  Which one is better? Which one gets you to want to eat Doritos?

Both of these videos have a different approach to attracting the consumer to Doritos.  The top one uses sexuality (Doritos all over a naked girls body). The second one uses comedy and a hit of sexuality (it shows what the guy is thinking until the little boy comes and tells him what is up(funny part))

Both commercials will attract different people the the product.  The first commercial will attract men that love women, where as the second one will attract more women because of the little boys "cuteness".

Different types of commercials will attract different people.  A company putting a commercial out needs to think who they want to attract the most.

Wireframes

A wireframe is a visual presentation of a websites design layout.  It is just a simple way to look at how a web page will look before the website is actually built.  Many people think skipping the step will be a time saver but that is false.  Creating a wireframe allows team members to visually see the layout of a page, quickly rearrange the layout if needed, measure how easy the page can be navigated, and evaluate the effectiveness of a web page. Skipping these steps will create a page that is not nearly as effective and cost worthy.

ALWAYS create a wireframe before creating a website!
